With the first public impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump beginning on Wednesday, government leaders continue to be split across party lines as to whether Trump had committed an impeachable offense. One such leader is U.S. Rep. Mark Green.

Representative Mark Green (R-TN) says opposing the impeachment inquiry has less to do with supporting the President and more to do with sticking up for his district and the rule of law.

Maury County’s congressional representatives Scott DesJarlais and Mark Green offered their insights into the climate of Capitol Hill during a Reagan Day gathering hosted by the Maury County Republican Party, calling the pursuit of the president’s impeachment a “travesty.”
