Just after U.S. Customs and Border Protection released its latest southern border data on Friday, a prominent House Republican indicated his committee will soon consider Department of Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’s possible impeachment in the new year.

Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.) recently sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security asking for it to take data security and hacking attempts by America’s enemies more seriously.

Rep. Mark Green (R-TN), the chairman of the committee, said the shift of agents off the border and into processing facilities sends the signal that it is OK to break U.S. law and illegally enter the country.
