Republican incumbent Mark Green will continue to represent Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District for a second term.

Green, a former state Senator, was re-elected to the post on Tuesday, earning a total of 71.1 percent of the vote through a total of 241,187 ballots.

His Williamson County-based Democratic opponent, Kiran Sreepada, earned 26.1 percent of the vote though a total of 88,549 ballots cast in his name across the district, with more than 98 percent of the districts reporting. 

Independents Roland Brown and Scott Vieria earned a combined three percent of the vote, according the unofficial results shared on Election Day.

Green is a Clarksville-based physician and businessman. He is staunch defender of the pro-life movement and an advocate for decreasing taxes who support’s state’s control of their public education systems.
